Banjo Basecamp Faculty Concert

Hosted and curated by GRAMMY-winning banjoist Alison Brown and set at the idyllic Porches Inn at MASS MoCA in the Northern Berkshire hills, this multi-day banjo camp is the first of its kind – and open to all skill levels, ages and genders!
Alison has assembled an all-female faculty that includes the 6-time IBMA award-winning banjoist and Steve Martin Banjo Prize (SMBP) winner Kristin Scott Benson and SMBP winner BB Bowness. Collectively, the faculty brings years of experience as both performers and educators; each instructor is committed to helping you up your banjo game in a nurturing and exclusive environment.
Over the course of 3 days, a maximum of 50 students will have the opportunity will have the opportunity to improve their playing, with an instructional focus on technique, expanding repertoire and gaining comfort playing in jam sessions. Students will be divided by skill level and enjoy 75 minutes of group instruction before and after lunch. Afternoon elective sessions will allow campers to learn about recording techniques for the 5-string banjo, clawhammer banjo techniques and more. In jam sessions and social time, students will also have a chance to make new friends and enjoy the fellowship of the banjo community.

Please note the following regarding parking:
Venue and parking
Studio 9 is located at 18 Veazie St, adjacent to the Porches Inn.
You are welcome to park in the following locations:
– The small lot across the street
– The community lot nearest the UNO Park on River St
– East side of Veazie Street (same side as the studio)
– or on the Porches side of River St.
Do not park in the following locations:
– Porches Guest lots
– The downhill side of Veazie
– Eastbound side of River Street (the side that Mass MoCA is on)
