Singer/Songwriter Circle with Lance Cowan, Natalia Zukerman, and Rees Shad

Rees Shad is back at Studio 9 but this time with new friends and a new special event. This songwriting circle features three very accomplished songwriters: Lance Cowen, Natalia Zukerman, & Rees Shad. There will not only be a performance of songs the three have composed, but also a discussion between of how they came to write these songs. This will be a must see show for fans and songwriters alike!

More about Lance:
For more than three decades, Lance Cowan has been a respected member of the entertainment community. Heavily entrenched in the Roots & Americana fields, Lance has worked with artists in such diverse genres as country, rock, pop, blues, bluegrass and jazz, as well as companies specializing in education and public speaking.

More about Natalia:
Born and bred amidst the vibrant tapestry of New York City, Natalia’s artistic journey has taken her on a mesmerizing adventure. From her formative years at Oberlin, where she honed her skills as a visual artist, to the bustling streets of San Francisco, where she birthed her mural business, “Off The Wall,” Natalia’s artistic spirit knows no bounds.

Moving to Boston in 2005 marked the genesis of a remarkable musical career that has since seen her become an international solo performer and the proud creator of eight independent albums, released through Weasel Records and her own label, Talisman Records. She has shared the stage, been a side player for, and/or opened for some of acoustic music’s most beloved artists including Ani DiFranco, Shawn Colvin, Dar Williams, Janis Ian, Nanci Griffith, Susan Werner, Willy Porter, Melissa Ferrick, Glen Phillips, Richard Thompson and many others.

Natalia’s music has left its indelible mark and has graced the soundtracks of hit shows like “The L Word” and “Chasing Life.” She has lent her musical talents to diverse projects, including scoring the independent film “The Arch of Titus” for Yeshiva University and contributing to the Harvard online course, “Poetry in America.

More about Rees Shad:
When Rees Shad began his musical journey three decades ago with the 1994 debut release, Anderson, Ohio, critics called him a “wordsmith to watch.”

It’s a reputation the remarkably prolific and eclectic singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and storyteller has proudly cultivated.  Shad now boasts some 30 albums, each of which reflect an unyielding combination of emotion and expression that has become the hallmark of Shad’s catalog.

You are welcome to park in the following locations:
– The small lot across the street
– The community lot nearest the UNO Park on River St
– East side of Veazie Street (same side as the studio)
– or on the Porches side of River St.
Do not park in the following locations:
– Porches Guest lots
– The downhill side of Veazie
– Eastbound side of River Street (the side that Mass MoCA is on)
