Our cutting-edge facilities ensure an immersive experience for both performers and audience, with top-notch acoustics and lighting that elevate every note, word, and joke to its full potential. Join us at Studio 9’s Weekly Open Mic, where creativity knows no bounds, and the spotlight is shared by all. It’s not just an open mic; it’s a showcase of all the creative excellence in the heart of the Northern Berkshires.

Studio 9 Presents Maya Shaw & Cate Byrne
Join us for an afternoon of great music provided by Maya Shaw and Cate Byrne.
Maya Shaw is a New York–based singer-songwriter and pianist whose music blends cinematic emotion with vintage elegance. Drawing comparisons to artists like Nancy Sinatra and Lana Del Rey, her sound is dreamy, poetic, and deeply heartfelt.
Maya will be joined by Cate Byrne, an eclectic violinist/fiddler, and native Berkshires resident. Cate holds a degree in Contemporary Improvisation from New England Conservatory of Music, and has enjoyed playing violin for the past 21 years. She now resides in Brooklyn, where she frequently performs a variety of musical genres.
Cate and Maya began performing in NYC together in early 2025 and have been musically inseparable ever since. They are excited to present duo renditions of Maya’s original songs, in addition to some structured violin and piano improvisations.
As August winds down, we’re preparing something truly special for you at Studio 9, an evening from the heart, wrapped in melody, memory, and magic.

Venue and parking
Studio 9 is located at 18 Veazie St, adjacent to the Porches Inn.
You are welcome to park in the following locations:
– The small lot across the street
– The community lot nearest the UNO Park on River St
– East side of Veazie Street (same side as the studio)
– or on the Porches side of River St.
Do not park in the following locations:
– Porches Guest lots
– The downhill side of Veazie
– Eastbound side of River Street (the side that Mass MoCA is on)
